DAY 3 - NOAH
Today, we continue our exploration of Genesis and enter into the story of Noah & the great Flood. In this story we find creation in an incredibly dark place, and God restores humanity with an act of "re-creation." Jesus fulfills these stories in the way he makes a new creation of us when we turn away from sin and follow Him.
From Our Spiritual Director
Reflection: Saturday Week 1
Gospel Reading: Luke 18:9-14
What is humility defined as? We can look to the saints such as St. Teresa of Calcutta who helped so many people throughout her life. The spiritual desolation she experienced for so many years and still managed to greet people with a smile each day. We see humility in the times we experience in our own lives over the last week during this coronavirus outbreak. Humility is recognizing that we are human and will fall at times. True humility can be a difficult thing to recognize in our own lives, but when we ask God to show us how to be humble, we can learn what true humility is. How have you been humbled in the last day or two? What do you need to ask God to help you see in the coming days so that you can grow closer to him?
God Bless,

A Note from Julie:
In some ways this has been an extremely LONG week, and in other ways, it has literally flown by! I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling this way.
I hope you are finding the CROWN RETREAT to be a source of calm, inspiration, and security during these days of uncertainty. I pray that you are also finding some peace amidst the noise of the day. I appreciate the need for concern but try hard not to buy into the panic. Silence is my best refuge to allow me to re-energize and remain focused on Christ. A few moments of treasured silence during each day to hear God's gentle voice reminding me Who is really in control is my saving grace.
We - Steve, Dan and I - are meeting regularly via google, evaluating and re-evaluating our efforts to make this period of isolation a time of spiritual growth and renewal for our families and parish. The feedback which some have offered is very positive and affirms we are heading in the right direction with room, and no doubt plans, for improvement.
Thank you for your continuous encouragement and support. Please prayer for our Faith Formation Team as we strive to offer you the best that we possibly can through God's good graces, and be confident of our prayers for you and your family.
