DAY 29 - MARY & THE POPE
Central to Jesus' new Kingdom is the establishment of his mom, Mary, as his Queen and the Apostle Peter (and his successors - the Popes) as the "al-bayit" or his right hand man. In this lesson, we will explore how Jesus, in fulfillment of David's Kingdom, intends to create these essential roles in his Church from the very beginning and how they continue in these roles until today.

Readings
Acts 3:11-26Psalm 8:2a & 5, 6-7, 8-9Luke 24:35-48Today, the disciples of Jesus recount how they recognized the risen Christ in the breaking of the bread and that “Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the Scriptures to us?” As this is recalled Jesus appears to them and says, “Peace be with you.” The disciples were terrified. "How can this be?" they ask. Each person must have wondered if the others were seeing what they were seeing. They were so skeptical that Jesus finally says look at me, touch me, recall that a ghost does not have bone and flesh as I have.
Once they recognize Jesus, they are amazed and overjoyed. The loss of Jesus in their midst had been terribly difficult. Not only did they wonder if they believed in someone who was not true, but that if it had been true Jesus was now not present to them.
As we continue through our Easter journey, we recognize that we seem to have lost Jesus in the ability to receive him in the Eucharist. We must remember that Spiritual Communion, our desire to be with Jesus at this most sacred time of the year unites us to Christs saving power for us!
His resurrection is our resurrection! We will see him face to face in the Heavenly Kingdom!
Blessings,
Fr. John

The Queen... In the Davidic kingdome, King Solomon's mother is the Queen, Bathsheba / Jesus' Queen is His mother, Mary--Queen of Heaven and of His Church on Earth.
Mary, Queen of Heaven and Jesus' Kingdom on Earth, His Church. Mary is highly honored, given authority by her Son, and a seat at His right hand. Mary hears our requests and asks her Son that our prayers be answered. Mary serves as her Son's intercessor. Mary is our Adovacte. Mary will defeat the Enemy who caused the problem of sin.
A Note from Julie:
Dear Parents,
I'm hoping that you are discovering moments joy in working your children at home, and that some of the initial stress thrusted upon you 5+ weeks ago has lessened. I hope you recognize occasions that may not have otherwise been possible under normal circumstances. Yes, I am an optomist, and cannot help but to be grateful for this time with my family, in a way that I would never have planned. To also have this opportunity to truly appreciate Jesus' sacrifice, in His Holy Presence, the Eucharist. I do believe absence makes the heart grow fonder.

God bless,
